I went back in time. And had breakfast at a diner.
Best decision I’ve made all week.
Every year, for as long as I can remember, I’ve gone to the American Association of University Women’s (AAUW) booksale. This year was no exception.
I was a proud member of AAUW in the past – I’m a poor student so I can’t maintain memberships like I’d like – but going to the booksale and buying books that I love (and may not need lol) which helps support AAUW scholarships, makes me feel like I’m helping out in my own little way.
This year, I was blown away by the booksale. For starters, it looked like it tripled in size. Maybe it’s due to the location or the layout or maybe it actually is three times larger – who knows – but it was magnificent nonetheless.
The sale was also organized better than it has been in the past which made finding books much more enjoyable. Oh and the selection – there were so many books – I actually found myself pleasantly overwhelmed at times.
The end result – I bought a ton of books that I love while helping out a great organization. I can’t wait to be a member again. Someday soon I hope!
If you’d like to check out the sale, hop on down to the Burlington Plaza at 1551 Niagara Falls Boulevard. You can’t miss the location; It’s right next to Joann’s. The sale runs through Sunday.

Did I mention that I found another copy of favorite book (one that I had not seen before!) in the world there? So awesome.
Smoke on the Water in Tonawanda. Holy deliciousness.
For starters I ordered deviled eggs with bbq pork and ta tas (tater tots with hot sauce and cheese). Both were divine. Who thinks to do those things to two of the foods in the universe?
Then came the main course. Me and OCD – the best bestie on the planet – had bbq brisket, shrimp and ribs with three sides – coleslaw, fries with voodoo rub? and Mac and cheese.
My favorite was the shrimp although everything was fantastic.
And it was all washed down with a lovely (but small) Blue Hawaiian.
I can’t wait to go back. Everything was so good.
Oh! Did I mention there was a Mermaid in the bathroom? True story.
So so good.
